book club

St. John's Book Club meets every 2nd Wednesday of the month at 7:30 pm. Members suggest books and selections are made by consensus. The informal meetings are held at the homes of members who volunteer--no one is required to host a meeting. Members joke that meetings are devoted equally to books as they are to the array of goodies members provide in the form of a pot-luck spread. Participants are advised not to eat dinner prior to meetings.

While discussions start out focused on the book of the month, talk often diverges to other topical subjects and no one seems to mind. Candor is the watchword of the day and the talk is alwasy lively. All are welcome. You don't even need to be a member of St. John's parish.

To learn more or to join the Book Club, contact Mother Val at the church office at 732-741-7826 or stjohnslittlesilver@verizon.net. Or speak to Mother Val, Deacon Eve, or Eliza Biehl any Sunday during coffee hour.
