St. John's kids kick off their 2017 Lenten Heifer Project.

The Children's heifer project

During Lent, our youth learn how they can care for neighbors they don't even know through the Heifer Project. They learn about how it is better to help others by giving them the resources they need to sustain themselves than just sending food or supplies. In 2016, our children raised more than $700 by donating their own allowance and asking their family and friends to contribute. Then they decided together which animals they would send to people in other countries that would provide a sustainable source of food and/or income. When our Bishop learned of their achievement, he matched their gift.
