James Scavone, Co-Music Director

Jim began his music career early on, singing with the highly regarded Glen Ellyn Children’s Chorus outside of Chicago at the age of 9 and with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra Chorus at both Orchestra Hall and Ravinia.  He received a Bachelor’s Degree in music from North Park University in Chicago.

After college Jim worked as Director of Music & Liturgy for several parishes in the Chicago area and also served on the Music Staff for the Archdiocese of Chicago. He was a teacher at the diocesan school for cantors and has authored several articles on liturgy and music.

Upon moving to New Jersey Jim joined the Monmouth Civic Chorus and has been singing with them for over 14 years.  He is a past president of the organization and continues to serve on the board of directors.  Jim also sings with MadRegalia, an a cappella quintet that performs a wide variety of vocal repertoire in the local area.
